Alice Moore discography

#year
of release
title / label / notes

10 inch 78 rpm
Since this ain't no museum, my aim is not to depict actually existing specimen of 78 rpm records,
but to show the labels as pristine as workmanlike possible

even if this - in some cases - takes a whole lot of my time to photoshop process the initial data

compiled by Samuel B. Charters
"The Material is in part from unissued material in the author's collection, in part from material on the author's Folkways releases, and in part from early blues recordings."

"All original recordings are included in their entirety" (RBF notes), while the previously unissued tracks (Charters' "field recordings") all seem to be cut short, "some without the courtesy of a proper fadeout, some of the cuts occur mid-stanza" (Charles Radcliffe review in Blues Unlimited 30, pp. 20-21)

"In December 1964 a jazz-and-blues-loving executive for German Brunswick Records pressed some limited vinyl reissues of material he liked to give as holiday presents. This is one of them, pressed in strictly limited quantity (I have heard both 50 and 35 copies) one time only. The records were distributed in plain inner sleeves - there is no art cover for this. A mimeographed play list, headed with "Special Pressing Brunswick Nr. 004 626" and the date on the bottom, neatly folded in two was inserted into the sleeve and given away with the disks."
