Ishmon Bracey
né Ishmael Adams   a/k/a Ishman Bracey 1)
b. January 9, 1901 in Byram, Hinds County, Mississippi
(ordained in 1950)
d. February 12, 1970 in Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi

buried at Willow Park Cemetery in Jackson, Hinds County, Mississippi
discography

1) "Bracey's first name is Ishmon, not Ishman, his wife Annie said.
She said he was named after an Old Testament character."
(Gayle Dean Wardlow 1998, p. 45)

2) The guitar Bracey's holding is a Stromberg (with an asymmetrical headstock - lower string side more "protruding" than higher string side!), which signifies that the originally published photo actually must have been flipped on its way to publication. That doesn't necessarily mean that Bracey was a left-handed guitar player, because we also have a Big Joe Williams photo (undisputed a right-hand player!) holding his guitar equally "wrong way round" for a photo shooting!

10 inch 78 rpm
Since this ain't no museum, my aim is not to depict actually existing specimen of 78 rpm records,
but to show the labels as pristine as workmanlike possible

even if this - in some cases - takes a whole lot of my time to photoshop process the initial data

In 1930 thousands of cases of muscle pain, weakness of upper and lower extremities, and minimal sensory impairment occured in the United States. The illness was caused by the consumption of an adulterated Jamaica ginger extract ("Jake"), an illicit beverage then popularly used in the southern and midwestern United States to circumvent prohibition statutes...victims with resultant gait impairment, sometimes permanent, were said to have "Jake Leg" or "Jake Walk".
