"The Devil's Music"

"The Devil's Music" television series was made by the BBC Continuing Education Department and first shown in five parts in 1976. A second series of four parts, presented by Alexis Korner, was first transmitted in 1979. Both series were produced and directed by Maddalena Fagandini & Giles Oakley.

"The Devil's Music - A History of the Blues" by Giles Oakley was first published in Britain by BBC Publications. The book was also available in the USA, published in hardback by Taplinger and in paperback by Harvest/HBJ. There are editions published in translation in Italy, Germany, France, Turkey and Japan.
